Akihito ordered a release of a surrender speech from 1945 after 70 years. Abe opposes it. Akhito is concerned about what Abe supports and strives to achieve, some which are unconstitutional. Akihito believes that they should remember what self-destruction Japan once had brought upon itself during wartime. He sees chaos from Abe's POV and leading support to an anti-Abe security legislation.
My thoughts about the article is that I strongly agree with Akihito. I believe that Japan should continue to be pacifist instead of altering a doctrine that have brought them peace and prosperity for 70 years. I find it odd that the legistation was still pasted by the Diet Lower House. I believe that Abe's direction is not the correct way to go with Japan's future.
This ties in to Japan's political life because it demonstrates a slight tension between the Emperor and the Prime Minister. It is important to the policies because they try to keep the peace and harmony of Japan together. It creates some controversy debating with unconstitutional acts. And due to Abe's abnormal proposals, Akihito attempts to create and antithesis to him.
